The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce provides networking and educational opportunities for executives, women, small business owners,new chamber members, and employees. Chamber University offers learning opportunities in areas such as nonprofit management, grant writing, and human resources. The Chamber also presents networkingevents and public affairs luncheons on topics of special interest to thebusiness community. The Brownsville Young Chamber is a young professional’s membership that creates opportunities for engagement with the community, networking, and professional development.

Members of the chamber have member-only access to marketing tools such as social media, e-newsletter, and e-blasts giving members direct and instant access to members and the greater community. Members also have access to special marketing and advertising offers, as well as consultative services through valued experts in areas such as marketing, small business branding, and social media.

The Chamber gives the names of member businesses to the hundreds who call, email or walk in the door for referrals. The Chamber Seal of Membership is available to members to display at their business location, on company materials and website, to reflect the credibility of being a member. Brownsville Chamber of Commerce membership enhances credibility in the community by sending the message to consumers that you are a reputable company that actively participates in the local business community. According to a study by The Schapiro Group, 80% of consumers said they feel more confident doing business with a Chamber member. The study also revealed that when consumers know that a national restaurant franchise is a member of a chamber of commerce, they are 68% more likely to eat at the franchise in the next few months.

The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce serves as a unified business voice and represents members’ business interests at the local, state, and federal government levels. The Governmental Advocacy Committee keeps a pulse on the legislative issuesthat matter to the business community. This committee advocates initiativesthat foster and promote a pro-business climate and gives members access toelected officials.
