The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce gives you a seat at the table to engage with community leaders, learn from your peers and learn about what’s happening in your industry. Committee involvement is a very effective way to establish yourself as a community leader and create lasting connections with other business leaders while working towards common goals.

BIENVENIDOS

Bienvenidos Committee

Mission: The Bienvenidos Committee serves as a proactive advocate for Chamber membership, promoting small business growth through innovative programs, education, and networking, while also addressing healthcare challenges within Brownsville.

Strategies:

  1. To champion Chamber membership by supporting businesses in their ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies.
  2. Inform, educate and connect members through professional development and continuing education opportunities by promoting relevant seminars, workshops and resources for the business community.
  3. Foster strong relationships with current and new Chamber members through tailored outreach and support initiatives, offering invaluable resources and tools to support member retention and assist small businesses in their growth trajectory.
Government & International Trade

Government & International Trade Committee

Mission: The mission of the Government & International Trade Committee is to promote awareness and take action on governmental issues of importance to chamber members at local, state and federal levels and to increase member involvement around critical issues related to voting, legislation and business advocacy. To represent the international commerce and trade needs of chamber members and the community.

Strategies:

  1. Identify international trade and governmental issues that are important to the membership to ensure their awareness.

  2. Foster relationships with government officials through hosting events and engaging in legislative activities.

  3. Participate in and host Legislative Tour and Day at the Capitol.

  4. Maintain liaison with Consuls, elected and appointed officials on both sides of the border.

  5. Redevelop and support the Bi-National Chamber of Commerce Coalition.

  6. Advocate for relevant issues by supporting coalition letters to Congress and government entities.
